6th- Tennis / 7th & 8th Flag Football and Frisbee

For the next two weeks the 6th graders will be out on the tennis courts learning to serve, volley, and score. They have the opportunity to use the high school facility to learn the basics of tennis.

The 7th and 8th grade classes are going to be split in half again for the next 3 weeks. The first half, Mr. Elam's class will be learning flag football while Mrs. Price's class will be learning the art of throwing a frisbee. After 7 days, we will flip classes so that each student gets the basics of both sports.

Golf/Tennis

Hey! It's been a while since I have updated. Sorry about that. These last couple of weeks we have given the students a choice. They had the opportunity to play golf or tennis. Ms. Blanford was kind enough to let us borrow the high school's golf equipment so that we were able to try something new at the middle school. Hopefully with the skills and experience the students are gaining, they will be tempted to take on a real golf course instead of the cow pasture we are playing on.

Floor Hockey and Dance

Mrs. Price's and Mr. Elam's classes are splitting up!!! Mrs. Price is teaching dance and Mr. Elam is teaching floor hockey. After a week we will switch classes so each student gets the opportunity to participate in both. At the end of the 2 weeks, the students will have a choice to participate in either advanced dance or advanced floor hockey. This is going to get crazy!!!

Weeks of February 8-19: Jump Rope

Each student will be given a list of jumps and tricks to complete. Once they can successfully execute the jump/trick 7 times, they may move on to the next skill. After all of the jumps have been completed, each student will come up with a routine that consists of 10 different tricks completed at least 5 times without missing or the rope stopping. Each student will have numerous opportunities to complete the jumps and routine. Ropes are available for checkout from Mr. Elam or Mrs. Price to practice at home.
